PTE Wilfrid Hope, DLI

Those of you who regularly read the Hub will be aware that we appealed for the descendants of WW1 Haughton service men or women to get in touch. Research is being carried out by 2 members of the History Society which will be published on a database in time for ARMISTICE SUNDAY this year. Subsequently, Andy Shotton got in touch and has now written an article about his granddad WILFRID HOPE who served in the DLI and was wounded at Ypres but thankfully returned home. Andy's account (accompanied by photos) is poignant but scattered with humour too. To read this fascinating tale please go to the Local History, Memories Section.

If you are also a descendant of a WW1 Haughtonian please consider getting in touch.  Your memories can them be preserved as part of Haughton's History.
