The special 3 day event held in the Centre for Local Studies at Darlington Library proved to be extremely popular and was viewed by over 300 people. Many of the visitors were ex workers from the factory who happily browsed through the material, then wrote down memories of their time at Patons & Baldwins. A few of those present were also delighted to bump into and chat with ex colleagues whilst at the library.

Albums from the library's extensive Patons & Baldwins collection were available to view; plus building plans, minute books and other material that gave a fascinating insight into daily life at the factory.

The 3 open days accompanied an exhibition which was on show in the Centre for Local Studies and throughout the library.

The 'Wool Town' knitted map of Darlington was also on show and a Library knitting group was also been formed, which now meets every Monday 10am - 12noon - everyone welcome!

A big THANK YOU goes to the staff in Local Studies for all their hard work in staging such an interesting and memorable event.
